A Polymarket prediction market has emerged, allowing users to wager on the potential divorces of Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot. This speculation began after the two went viral on social media for their appearance at a Coldplay concert.

Polymarket Bets on Possible Divorce of Astronomer CEO

Polymarket is showing once again the power of crypto-first platforms, allowing its users to bet on practically everything. A prediction market that examines the potential divorce possibilities of Andy Byron, CEO of software company Astronomer, and the company’s Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, has surged after their situation went viral on social media.

The two executives were shown together at a Coldplay concert when the kiss cam focused on them, inadvertently putting them in the spotlight. The bet, identified as “Astronomer CEO Parlay,” states that they were “caught acting intimately, making it appear that each was cheating on their respective spouse.”

The prediction market determined the conditions for determining the result of the bet, stressing that for the bet to resolve positively, both executives or their spouses must publicly announce their intention to divorce before August 17.

There has been speculation about a possible ongoing divorce involving Byron, after his wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, reportedly removed the Byron surname from her social media handles. While statements allegedly attributed to Byron apologizing to his wife, his family, and his team at Astronomer also appeared, company staff flagged these as fake.

The fake statements stressed that “what was supposed to be a night of music and joy turned into a deeply personal mistake playing out on a very public stage.” No official statements have been issued by Astronomer or Byron.

When the markets opened, close to 25% believed that these divorces might happen.

Nonetheless, Cabot divorced in 2022, making this bet impossible to solve positively. Even so, degens have poured $97,542 into this market, with the Yes option plummeting to less than 4% after Cabot’s marital status was known.
