Brave launches the “.brave” blockchain domain, becoming the first mainstream browser to offer native on-chain domains.
PANews reported on May 21 that the Brave browser has partnered with Unstoppable Domains to launch the “.brave” on-chain domain, which supports cross-chain resolution and IPFS website hosting. The domain is minted as an NFT on the Polygon chain and has no renewal fees. This feature is set to be launched in version 1.81 of the Brave browser, targeting an August release. Brave also plans to apply for the “.brave” generic top-level domain from ICANN in 2026 to promote interoperability between Web2 and Web3.
