Tether Investment Landscape: Strategic Layout from AI to Brain-Computer Interfaces

The CEO of Tether recently revealed that the company's investment portfolio now covers more than 120 enterprises and is expected to continue expanding in the future. These investments come from Tether's own profits, completely separate from USDT reserves, and are managed by the Tether Investments department.

Tether Investments is Tether's strategic investment company established in El Salvador, focusing on the intersection of technology, infrastructure, and practical applications. Its investment scope includes artificial intelligence, financial services, energy, biotechnology, education, and digital media, and it holds strategic equity in industries such as commodities, remittances, sports, and entertainment.

Tether's first quarter report this year shows that the company has invested over $2 billion in long-term projects such as renewable energy, artificial intelligence, peer-to-peer communication, and data infrastructure through Tether Investments, aiming to build a sustainable digital economy.

The Tether official website has five major sections: finance, renewable energy mining, data, education, and human evolution, reflecting its strategic focus:

CityPay

CityPay is a digital currency payment solution for enterprises, supporting the receipt of cryptocurrencies and obtaining fiat currency. In 2023, it completed a €2 million seed round, and in 2024 it received additional investment from Tether.

Fizen

Fizen is a Hong Kong fintech company that focuses on self-custody crypto wallets and digital payments. In April 2025, it received a strategic investment from Tether to promote the use of global stablecoins.

Kem

Kem is a P2P payment platform in the Middle East, supporting instant remittance via QR codes and investment in gold, among other features. In August 2024, it secured a $3 million investment from Tether and integrated USDT into the platform.

Mansa

Mansa is a smart liquidity solution based on stablecoins. The $10 million seed round was completed in February 2025, with Tether leading the investment of $3 million to support its expansion into Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Oobit

Oobit is a cryptocurrency mobile payment application that supports usage at locations accepting Visa and Mastercard. The Series A funding of $25 million was completed in February 2024, led by Tether Investments.

Orionx

Orionx is a cryptocurrency exchange in Chile, operating in several Latin American countries. In June 2025, it completed a Series A funding round exclusively led by Tether to expand its stablecoin-driven infrastructure.

Quantoz

Quantoz is a licensed stablecoin issuer in the Netherlands, launching USDQ and EURQ stablecoins in compliance with EU MiCA regulations. In November 2024, it received strategic investment from Tether.

Synonym

Synonym focuses on developing a software and service ecosystem centered around Bitcoin, offering products such as the self-custody wallet Bitkit.

Shiga Digital

Shiga Digital provides services such as virtual accounts and over-the-counter trading for African businesses, and is developing an on-chain gateway for direct purchase of goods with USDT. It received investment from Tether in June 2025.

Sorted Wallet

Sorted Wallet provides cross-border payment and stablecoin hedging services for users without bank accounts. In September 2024, it received a strategic investment of $1.5 million from Tether.

Twenty One Capital

Twenty One Capital is a treasury company focused on Bitcoin. Launched in April 2025 by Tether, SoftBank, and others, it currently holds 31,500 BTC.

XREX Group

XREX Group focuses on blockchain payment solutions. In June 2024, it received a $18.75 million investment from Tether to promote USDT cross-border payments in emerging markets.

Zengo

Zengo is a cryptocurrency wallet provider that uses MPC technology. In February 2025, it received strategic investment from Tether to enhance its cross-chain support capabilities.

PlanB.Network focuses on Bitcoin education, providing tutorials on wallets, nodes, mining, and is supported by Tether.

Adecoagro

Adecoagro is a South American producer of sustainable food and renewable energy. Tether acquired a 70% stake in April 2025, and the two parties will launch a renewable energy Bitcoin mining project in Brazil.

Bitdeer

Bitdeer is a Bitcoin mining and high-performance computing service provider. Tether's cumulative investment has increased its shareholding to 21.4%, supporting Bitdeer's expansion of data centers and ASIC miner research and development.

Blackrock Neurotech is a leader in brain-computer interface technology. In April 2024, it received a $200 million investment from Tether to commercialize its medical solutions.
