IEA: Global liquefied natural gas supply is expected to see the largest increase since 2019 next year.
Jin10 data reported on July 22 that the International Energy Agency (IEA) stated that global liquefied natural gas supply is expected to see the largest rise since 2019 next year, primarily driven by increased production in North America. The IEA mentioned in its quarterly gas market report that after a 5.5% rise this year, the supply is projected to accelerate by 7% by 2026, which is equivalent to an annual increase of 40 billion cubic meters. A project in Qatar will also contribute to the rise. IEA gas analyst Gergely Molnar stated: "This is expected to somewhat alleviate the market fundamentals and ultimately promote strong demand growth. 2026 will be the first year of the liquefied natural gas boom, and to some extent, this will also be a test of how demand responds to strong growth, especially in Asia."
