The first cryptocurrency ATM indictment in the country was issued by the British police after accusing a resident of operating an illegal cryptocurrency ATM and money laundering £300,000 ($395,000). The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK issued a ban on Cryptocurrency ATM in 2022, warning machine holders to register with the FCA. Subsequently, the regulatory authority cracked down on unregistered Cryptocurrency ATMs. The FCA emphasizes in the indictment: "There is currently no Cryptocurrency ATM machine registered with the FCA, so if you use one of these machines, you may be handing over funds to criminals."
