Houthi armed forces attack commercial vessel, towing operation initiated in Red Sea

On the evening of August 31, local time, the Houthis in Yemen confirmed that they attacked a foreign merchant ship in the Gulf of Aden the night before. In addition, the group said that the towing of the tanker Sounion, which was floating in the Red Sea after the previous attack, would begin on September 1. Houthi spokesman Yahya · Sarri said in a televised statement that the Houthis carried out a military operation against the Groton in the Gulf of Aden and that the missiles hit the ship. This is the second time since August that the Houthis have admitted to attacking the Groton, the last attack on August 3, when the ship suffered minor damage to its hull.
