After the ceasefire in Gaza, Houthi militants hinted at suspending attacks on Red Sea ships.

On January 17th, Jinshi Data reported that the Houthi armed forces in Yemen will suspend attacks on commercial ships, which have been ongoing for several months, following the ceasefire protocol reached between Israel and Hamas. In the organization's first speech since the Gaza ceasefire protocol was announced on Wednesday, Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi said that the group will follow the protocol, suggesting that they will suspend attacks on ships and Israel. However, he also left room for the resumption of attacks, which may mean that shipping companies will remain highly cautious when returning to the Red Sea.
