## Bitcoin market capitalization

The market capitalization of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC) has surpassed that of the IT giant Amazon and has attracted attention by becoming the fifth largest financial asset.

This is a simple comparison of market capitalization, but Bitcoin has surpassed not only Amazon but also Alphabet, the parent company of Google, and Silver. On the other hand, at the time of writing this article, the price of Bitcoin is below $120,000 (approximately 17.7 million yen), and its market capitalization has been surpassed by Amazon, placing it back in sixth place.

The following is the market capitalization ranking of financial assets provided by "Infinite Market Cap." Overseas media reported on the 14th that Bitcoin has surpassed Amazon, and at that time it was ranked 5th, following Gold, NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Apple.

At the time of writing this article, the price of Bitcoin is fluctuating around $119,000. It surpassed $120,000 yesterday and has been on an upward trend recently after reaching an all-time high.

Many point out that the background of this price increase includes the inflow of funds from institutional investors into ETFs, the large number of corporate purchases, expectations regarding the U.S. government's progress in cryptocurrency regulation, and the macroeconomic situation.

Future Bitcoin Price

If Bitcoin continues to rise, there is a possibility that it will surpass Amazon again, which has a market capitalization that is closely contested. Additionally, data posted on social media indicated that Amazon's market capitalization was five times higher five years ago, highlighting the rapid growth of Bitcoin.

According to "The Block," Vincent Liu, the Chief Investment Officer of Kronos Research, seems to believe that there is still room for Bitcoin to rise, and he commented on the future market as follows.

If the demand for ETFs is maintained and expectations for interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve (FRB) rise, Bitcoin could potentially rise to between $130,000 and $150,000 by the end of 2025.

However, the speed of price increase depends on how much money flows in from individual investors in addition to the capital flow of institutional investors.
