In the first half of 2025, over $3 billion was stolen due to 119 hacks — this exceeds the figures for the entire year of 2024, notes Global Ledger.



Money laundering of stolen funds takes mere minutes, and in 23% of cases, it is completed before the public disclosure of the incident.

Only 4.2% of the funds could be returned. 15% of the laundered assets passed through centralized exchanges, which have only 10–15 minutes to block them. Most of the losses (54%) are related to attacks on CEX exchanges.

Experts recommend implementing automated real-time monitoring systems for quick response.
