After reading "lean Ethereum" written by Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake, I was really shocked. It feels like they are not just hyping concepts, but are seriously thinking about how Ethereum will survive and go further in the next ten years.

The vision is clear and bold:

🔹 The main chain's TPS aims to reach 10,000 transactions per second, while the second layer targets 1,000,000 transactions per second. Transferring funds on the blockchain used to be like being stuck in traffic; in the future, it will be a smooth experience akin to highways and high-speed trains.

🔹 The consensus layer, execution layer, and data layer all need to be restructured, fully modularized. The beacon chain will also be upgraded to 2.0, running lighter and with clearer logic.

🔹 It is possible to rewrite the EVM based on the open-source RISC-V instruction set, making it more flexible and user-friendly. If this becomes a reality, Ethereum will not just be a chain, but more like an operating system that underpins the entire ecosystem.

🔹 The most hardcore aspect is the quantum-resistant layout—hash signatures, hash roots, and ZK VM, all prepared in advance to withstand quantum impacts in the future.

While other chains are still competing to launch new features and create buzz, Ethereum has been silently refining its foundation and thinking about how to survive the next decade.

If these goals can truly be realized one by one, then the next decade for Ethereum is worth looking forward to.
