CESS: Innovator in Decentralization Storage in the Web3 Era
CESS: A New Force in Innovative Decentralization Storage
With the arrival of the Web3 era, decentralized storage networks have gradually become the focus of people's attention. Although traditional decentralized storage technology performs excellently in file storage, it still faces challenges in performance and speed, especially in dApps and file reading. To address this issue, CESS has emerged.
CESS, as a physical infrastructure network, consists of three functional layers: the public chain layer, storage layer, and content distribution layer ( DCDN ). The public chain layer is developed based on Substrate, integrating the EVM Pallet module to provide data layer support for dApps. The storage layer is a blockchain-based decentralized cloud storage system responsible for storing file content. The DCDN layer is planned for release in 2025, aiming to improve user access speed and reduce transaction costs.
The decentralized nature of the CESS network is reflected in its node network and innovative consensus mechanism. The network consists of consensus nodes, storage nodes, cache nodes, and retrieval nodes, and anyone can participate in mining. In terms of consensus algorithms, CESS employs the Reputation Round Robin Consensus (R²S) mechanism, which selects validation nodes through point ranking.
To ensure the security and reliability of storage, CESS employs technologies such as Multi-Replica Recoverable Storage Proof (PoDR²) and Proof of Idle Space (PoIS). Additionally, the use of Proxy Re-encryption Technology (PReT) further enhances the security of data sharing.
The CESS ecosystem has launched several practical products, including Deshare for individual users, the decentralized file sharing platform Decloud, and the enterprise-level storage solution DeOSS. These products not only support traditional file storage and sharing but also provide robust infrastructure support for the NFT market and other Web3 applications.
The project is backed by an experienced team, including Nicholas from Harvard Business School, Joseph Li with 38 years of IT infrastructure technology experience, and early cryptocurrency investor Jessie Dai. By the end of 2023, CESS secured $8 million in funding from several institutions, including HTX Ventures.
Compared to other decentralized storage networks, CESS has significant advantages in decentralization, security, privacy protection, and file reading efficiency. Its Substrate-based development framework is compatible with EVM, providing better interoperability and user-friendliness for developers and users.
CESS is not just a traditional Decentralization network; it builds a comprehensive and practical physical infrastructure for Web3 applications by integrating public chains, decentralized storage, and content distribution. Although it has not yet issued tokens, CESS has already attracted nearly 20,000 accounts and over 7,000 storage miners participating in the mainnet, demonstrating strong development potential.
