The key technology driving DeSci is decentralized storage, which has evolved from the IPFS protocol. It has been shown to be more cost-effective and secure than traditional centralized storage solutions, and the current implementations are relatively mature. Essentially, the infrastructure for DeSci is in place; now it just needs broader acceptance and adoption of decentralized storage concepts.

This round of Gitcoin Grants, GG22, primarily focuses on OSS initiatives and 7 community-led rounds.
