BREAKING: Denial Came for the Meme Coin Whose Logo Was Allegedly Claimed to Be Displayed on the Sphere in Las Vegas! Did the Developers Lie?
Las Vegas Sphere, despite a post released by dogwifhat (WIF) developers earlier this week, reported that they have no relationship with the token.
A Sphere spokesperson said that no agreement was ever made to advertise Dogwifhat. The representative said, "We never had any agreement with Dogwifhat, and our former agency only had a very preliminary discussion early last year," and added, "We had no plans for Dogwifhat to be featured in Exosphere; we are sorry for them using our name for fraudulent purposes."
In March 2024, a group of organizers raised about $700,000 from WIF supporters to finance a marketing campaign that placed Dogwifhat on Sphere's massive LED screen. The campaign helped WIF reach its all-time high of $4.83. However, over time, skepticism among investors increased and many demanded refunds due to a lack of visible progress.
This week, the official Dogwifhat X account reignited speculation by publishing: "Officially confirmed. Viva hat vegas." The post was later edited to remove the phrase "officially confirmed," but an image of the dog mascot holding a phone with "Q1 2025" was preserved, indicating a future advertisement. The post included the statement "Dates will come when we are allowed to share."
