GOAT Network: An Innovative Solution for BTC L2

GOAT Network, as an innovative Layer 2 solution for Bitcoin, aims to expand Bitcoin's functionality by implementing Bitcoin Rollup. The network utilizes several advanced technologies, including the optimistic challenge protocol GOAT-OCP, BitVM2, and ZKM interleaved Rollup, to enhance transaction inclusivity and finality.

The testnet of the GOAT Network is about to launch, with the mainnet expected to go live in the third or fourth quarter of this year. To attract early users, the official team will introduce the GOAT Club points program, providing lasting value and fair, sustainable rewards for Bitcoin holders of different scales.

Addressing the Three Major Challenges Faced by L2

The GOAT Network has proposed effective solutions to the common challenges faced by Layer 2 networks, such as decentralization, security, and sustainable returns.

1. Decentralized Sequencer: The GOAT Network has adopted a decentralized sequencer since the launch of its mainnet, initially having 7 sequencer nodes, each required to stake BTC to secure the network. Currently, 5 founding sequencer nodes have been confirmed, committing over 5,000 BTC in liquidity support.

2. Security: On the Bitcoin Layer 1, the GOAT Network applies an enhanced version of Bitcoin's time-lock and one-time signature technology to protect the locked BTC assets. On the Layer 2 level, it utilizes the zero-knowledge virtual machine zkVM developed by ZKM, ensuring that the system meets the native security standards of the Bitcoin base layer.

3. Sustainable Revenue Model: The decentralized sequencer can earn Gas fees in the form of BTC and mining rewards in the form of GOAT tokens by producing blocks, providing security, and maintaining round-the-clock activity. This mechanism offers participation opportunities and sustainable income for node operators, builders, and BTC holders.

Universal Layer 2 Vision

The goal of the GOAT Network is to become a universal Layer 2 for all L1s, showcasing its ambition in addressing blockchain interoperability and decentralized liquidity issues. By deploying its internal Entangled Rollup technology on various L1 and L2 blockchains, the GOAT Network is able to facilitate messaging and asset transfers across multiple different networks without relying on third-party bridges, thus ensuring smooth network liquidity and asset security.

The GOAT Network team is composed of industry veterans.

• The technical team leader, Professor Stephen Duan, previously founded Baidu Blockchain and Eigen Network.
• Redouane Elkamhi, Head of Economics and Professor of Finance at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, designed a sustainable revenue mechanism for GOAT.
• Chief Innovation Officer Dr. Eric Wang, PhD in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, designed the sustainable BTC yield model for GOAT.

Ecosystem Construction

GOAT Network is building a comprehensive ecosystem. Multiple key DeFi applications will be launched simultaneously when the mainnet goes live, including DEX, lending, Perp DEX, BRC-20 trading platform, and even a MEME center.

GOAT Club Points Program

To encourage early participation, GOAT Network has launched the GOAT Club Points Program, which includes three types of points:

1. Community Points ( CP ): Hold 0.001 BTC to receive long-term benefits and points.
2. Builder Points ( BP ): Rewards are obtained based on TVL or gas consumption using smart contracts.
3. Node Points ( SP ): Node operators earn points based on the blocks they produce.
