[France plans to use surplus nuclear power for Bitcoin mining] According to Cryptoslate, French lawmakers have submitted a proposal to utilize excess electricity from nuclear power plants for Bitcoin mining, expecting to generate annual revenues of $100-150 million. This five-year pilot program will allow mining centers to co-locate with nuclear facilities and will only be activated during periods of surplus electricity, while also recovering the heat generated by mining for heating or industrial purposes. The proposal was submitted to the French National Assembly on July 11.
