On July 18, Jin10 reported that Douglas Macgregor, a former advisor to the Pentagon and retired U.S. Army colonel, stated that the United States' missile reserves for defense and offense can only sustain military operations for "about eight days," as the country's stockpile has been depleted. In a post on his X social media, Macgregor called for the U.S. to stop supplying weapons to other countries. He wrote, "Very reliable sources tell me that our missiles for defense and attack can last about eight days... We can fight in a war for eight days, after which we will have to resort to nuclear weapons." Macgregor also called for an update to President Trump regarding the low levels of missile stockpiles. In another post, he wrote, "I'm not sure if this has been reported to Trump. He should be aware of how low our actual stockpiles are."
